What could have possibly lead to this sad clown riding in the front seat of a roller coaster?!
A sad clown is nothing new, but a sad clown riding in the front seat of a roller coaster? Well, that’s definitely not something you see everyday. Set your timer for 45 minutes and give us the backstory on the photo above!

Write in the first or third person, it doesn’t matter. If you’re the clown, why are you dressed like that and looking so sad in the front seat of a ride that everyone else is enjoying? If you’re an on-looker, what is it like to be in the same vicinity of this odd clown character? Whatever viewpoint you use, don’t forget that the photo is your guide, your story must lead to that point and explain what is happening before the photo was snapped.
Remember the (few) rules:
- You must stop writing when 45 minutes is up – don’t write a story that you will know will take hours and don’t skimp on the time either. Try to fill up the full 45 minutes.
- You must include the scene in the photo. If you have time, don’t just end with the photo but keep your story going (don’t stop writing until those 45 minutes are done!).
