Belgium's Chateau d'eau rising in the distance

Chateau d’eau Water Tower in Belgium [Dream Home]

Imagine living inside a refurbished water tower – welcome to the Chateau d’eau, AKA my dream home, in Steenokkerzeel, Belgium. Take a look!

Dear owner of the Chateau d’eau in Steenokkerzeel, Belgium, the next time you need a house-sitter, I am there! I’ll even house-sit for free. The truth is, I want to stay in your converted water tower home because after seeing what you’ve done to the place online, I’m desperate to see it in person.

The Chateau d’eau was initially constructed and completed as a working water tower by the town of Steenokkerzeel in 1941. Despite being a water tower, the building has a storied history, including occupation by the Nazis during World War II. The structure was eventually declared a historic landmark in 2004 before it was purchased and turned into a home.

The exterior of the Chateau d’eau was reconstructed to look as it did when it was first built, and the inside was turned into a sleek and modern living space that still honors the original purpose of the building. Take a look:
