“Found Tonight”, inspired by the Parkland, Florida school shooting, brings together two Broadway superstars for an unbelievable duet.

Have you ever had that dream where Alexander Hamilton and Evan Hansen sing each other’s songs for charity? Musical theater fans know what I’m talking about. Well fans, your dream is coming true! “Found Tonight” is a new duet from two of Broadway’s biggest stars: Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda and Dear Evan Hansen’s Ben Platt.

The song is a mashup that combines “The Story of Tonight” from Hamilton and “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen. Those songs are already showstoppers on their own but together, they create an incredibly moving duet. It also helps that Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt’s voices blend perfectly.

The February 14th school shooting in Parkland, Florida recently increased pressure on lawmakers to improve gun control across the nation. Students have organized walkouts while major companies have withdrawn their support for the NRA. Miranda and Platt felt the need to show their support for the cause. Song proceeds will benefit March of Our Lives – a rally to end gun violence and mass shootings in schools.

Both Miranda and Platt recently stepped down from their Tony Award-winning, title roles, which makes the release of this new duet a very big deal for musical theater fans.
