By now, you’ve probably seen, or at least heard of, the Super Mario Bros sketch from Saturday Night Live. SNL has put out some top-quality, dark mock-movie-trailers (did you catch the Sesame Street parody starring David Harbour?!), but this one might be my favorite so far. Aside from all the warm nostalgic memories of playing Mario Kart with friends and family, the writing and acting are perfect! I dare you not to smile at this one!
Starring Pedro Pascal (fresh off his popular turn on the HBO video game series The Last of Us and just before The Mandalorian season 3 starts) stars as Mario in this hilarious thrill ride of a trailer. (Is it any wonder there was a petition to replace Chris Pratt with Pedro Pascal in the upcoming Mario Bros animated movie?). Watch the original sketch:
