Selfie – Blues Traveler Concert [Favorite Scenes]

I can’t help but smile every time I see John Cho and Ron Funches bust out Blues Traveler’s “Runaround.” Watch the scene from Selfie!

Okay, okay, yes, I just posted about Selfie about a month ago, but this scene is just so perfectly me that it deserves its own shout-out. Unlike most of my favorite scenes from the defunct sitcom, the ever-entertaining Karen Gillian does not appear. But don’t worry, because John Cho represents in full force, and as much as I would love to say I watched because of Gillian… it was always about the hilarious and handsome Cho.

Selfie is a television series that premiered on ABC in 2014. The show is a modern retelling of George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion,” although most would probably relate it to My Fair Lady. It follows the story of Eliza Dooley, a self-obsessed young woman who becomes the subject of a social media makeover by Henry Higgs, a marketing expert.

In the scene below, John Cho’s character, Henry, is out on a date with Julia (Allison Miller). Henry rarely lets loose in Selfie, but he can’t help himself once Blues Traveler starts their biggest hit, “Runaround.” There are two reasons this scene is one of my favorites: first, I adore the moment Henry can’t keep his composure anymore and starts singing along (who hasn’t had that moment in their lives?!); second, Ron Funches. I don’t think I need to say anymore. Just watch!
