A lot happened in the last week of June 2020 – here are a few things you may have missed from music, to current events, to series, to history lessons and more!

There is so much happening in the world right now, it’s hard to catch it all. From classic movie reunions to major supreme court decisions, here are a few things you might have missed from June 2020!

Current Events – June 2020

Off the top, June 19th found Americans of all races celebrating JUNETEENTH – some learned of the historical day’s significance for first time in their lives. If you still don’t understand the meaning behind Juneteenth, educate yourself! You can start with the video below:


The US SUPREME COURT handed down two major decisions regarding DACA and the LBGTQ+ community this week – find out more about both below:

Music – June 2020

I rediscovered the GOTYE hit “Somebody That I Used To Know” after watching the video below – it really was a unique and special song!


Although I’ve always loved the song, I had no idea what inspired THE BEATLES hit “Blackbird” – and now I do! #BLACKLIVESMATTER!!!

Movies & Series – June 2020

Now that I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE (starring MARK RUFFALO) has finished airing new episodes, I am hard-core binging this incredible limited series on HBO MAX, you should too! Watch the trailer:


To balance out the heavy drama mentioned above, I am also watching and loving the new APPLE+ animated, musical series, CENTRAL PARK starring so many of musical favorites! Join JOSH GAD, KRISTEN BELL, TITUSS BURGESS, LESLIE ODOM, JR., KATHRYN HAHN (also amazing in I Know This Much is True), DAVEED DIGGS, and STANLEY TUCCI for many fantastical adventures in the park!

Food – June 2020

I ran out to TRADER JOES and bought one of each of their dumpling options (which I am still going through) after seeing this video from MIKE CHEN and STRICTLY DUMPLING:


I also learned how to make the famous Hawaiian kind-of-burger dish, LOCO MOCO this week from GEORGE MOTZ and FIRST WE FEAST:
