If you had to, could you take up the YouTube challenge of watching the streaming service for 24 hours straight?
YouTube is one of my favorite platforms and I can easily get lost in video after video for hours on-end. But am I ready for a YouTube challenge where I have to watch the streaming platform for 24 hours straight? Probably? Maybe? Okay… no way. As much as there is to see and explore on YouTube, 24 hours of anything is usually overkill. I can’t imagine 12 hours, let alone 24!
When I learned The Infographics Show had taken up the YouTube challenge of watching for 24 hours, I wondered if I’d been wrong all those years. Maybe there was enough variety and content on the platform to sustain my interest over all that time. I mean… it beats eating Tide pods.
What I found was not what I expected, but should have been obvious all along. Of course the YouTube part of the YouTube challenge isn’t the hard part, it’s the sitting for 24 hours, focusing in on a screen with little to no break. The content and options on YouTube are endless, but the ability to stare at a screen non-stop, or sit on a couch or chair non-stop, is tiring and emotionally draining.
