NEW Wicked: For Good Trailer – The Beginning of the End

It’s wild how fast a year can fly by. It feels like I just walked out of the movie theater, emotionally wrecked and mentally replaying every second of Wicked. And yet here we are—five months out from the release of Wicked: For Good—and I’m already bracing myself for another round of magical heartbreak.

Let’s get one thing out of the way: I’m not totally in love with the title Wicked: For Good. It feels a little too on the nose. A little too “let’s tie this all up with a pretty Glinda-approved bow.” But honestly? I’ll survive—because the new trailer is electric.

Director Jon M. Chu is back, and so is the cast that made the first film such a showstopper. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are giving everything, and from the looks of it, part two will lean all the way into the heartbreak, division, and bittersweet beauty of Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship.

The trailer teases an Oz that’s even more divided than before—Elphaba, now full-on Wicked Witch status, is in hiding, still fighting the good fight and trying to expose the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). Glinda, meanwhile, is decked out in glitter and glamor, propped up by the scheming Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), basking in fame and struggling to reconcile the price of it all.

And then there’s Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), wedding bells, Nessarose (Marissa Brode), Boq (Ethan Slater), Pfannee (Bowen Yang), and a young girl from Kansas who’s about to turn Oz upside down.

What gets me most is the way this final chapter seems to bring it all back to the core of the story: Elphaba and Glinda. Two wildly different women, forced to face the world—and each other—one last time. The trailer promises high stakes, big emotions, and, yes, a very angry mob. I’m already preparing for the tears I know are coming.

So, no, I don’t want to rush through the next five months. But November? I see you. And I am so ready. Watch the newest trailer below:
