Do I believe in psychics? Not really. Am I fascinated by them anyway? Absolutely. A skeptic’s take on the allure of the supernatural, the power of belief, and why people keep seeking answers from beyond.
Do I think there are real psychics in the world? I mean, I can’t prove otherwise, so sure—why not? But do I believe everyone who claims to have supernatural gifts is the real deal? Absolutely not. Not even close. In fact, I’d bet most of them are just really good at reading people rather than the future.
And yet, despite my deep-seated skepticism, I remain completely fascinated by the idea of psychics. Not because I think they can channel messages from my dearly departed great-aunt (who, let’s be honest, probably has better things to do in the afterlife), but because of the way people are drawn to them. What is it they’re looking for? Do they genuinely believe, or is it more about the comfort of the experience, the ritual of it all? Maybe, for some, it feels like a spiritual journey.
I wouldn’t know. My inner cynic just won’t let me buy in—not even a little bit. Even if, by some wild chance, a few of them are legit.
