When architect Christian Wassman set out to design his dream home in New York’s Catskill Mountains, he discovered inspiration in the most unlikely of places: a massive boulder. Instead of removing the boulder, as many would do, he chose to build his home around it. His amazing residence was appropriately titled “Rock’n’House.”

The boulder was incorporated into every aspect of Wassman’s family house, and it is visible from practically every room. Even when it is not visible, its presence is felt because of the curving walls and unusually angled spaces. The result is simply fantastic.
