Class Dismissed, Welcome Home: A 100-Year-Old Indiana Schoolhouse Makeover

Have you ever driven past an old school and thought, Wow, I wish I lived there? Yeah, me neither. But that’s exactly what one couple from New York did when they returned to their hometown of Franklin, Indiana.

Meet Stacie and Sean Grissom, a couple in their mid-thirties who saw potential where most of us would know a maintenance nightmare. They took a 100-year-old schoolhouse and turned it into a stunning, livable home—and the results are seriously impressive.

According to CNBC, the Grissoms bought the historic building in August 2021 for $175,000. Then, over the course of three years (and a lot of patience), they transformed it into the perfect space for themselves and their young son. The process was anything but easy, but the end result? Absolutely worth it.
