I went looking for an authentic Philly dive bar and somehow ended up in what felt like a labor dispute, an insurance scam, and the opening scene of a true crime documentary. Paddy's Pub: two stars, obviously.
A missing family, a mansion turned local legend, and one of the vanished daughters strolling back into town fifteen years later. Such a Clever Girl has a genuinely creepy hook; it takes way too long to pay off.
Order of the Swans never quite takes off. A promising premise gets weighed down by flat characters and a plot that forgets to dazzle—unless your love for the genre knows no bounds.
