A new Vought Rising teaser takes us back to the early days of Vought. The costumes are sharper, the secrets are darker, and the supes are already a problem.
I’ll be honest: they had me at Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.
Prime Video has released a teaser for Vought Rising, the upcoming prequel series set in the very messy universe of The Boys, and it looks like we’re going back to the early days of Vought International. Which, based on everything we know about Vought, can only mean bad science, worse ethics, and probably excellent costumes.

The series is set in 1950s New York and follows the origins of Vought. Ackles is returning as Soldier Boy and Cash back as Stormfront — this time under her earlier identity, Clara Vought.

And yes, I am very here for that cast.

I already loved Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, and before that… well, it should be known I’m a die-hard Supernatural fan. And Aya Cash (You’re the Worst) was also one of the most chilling parts of The Boys, and I mean that as a compliment.

The cast also includes Mason Dye (Stranger Things), Will Hochman (Blue Bloods), KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie (Bridgerton), Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri (The Bear), Nicolò Pasetti, and Brian J. Smith (Sense 8), which makes this feel like more than just a quick franchise spin-off.

I’m always a little cautious with prequels, because we already know where the story is headed. But a 1950s murder mystery about the early days of Vought? That is exactly the kind of terrible idea I would like to watch unfold from a safe distance.
