Chappell Roan went full Fhloston Paradise at Daisy Chain Fields, and as a huge Fifth Element fan, I was immediately obsessed. The lilac mini, glossy boots, and that sharp new bob? Multipass approved.

There are celebrity looks I appreciate, and then there are celebrity looks that feel specifically engineered to get my attention.

I’m a huge Fifth Element fan, so the second I saw the lilac crop top, tiny matching skirt, and glossy boots, I knew exactly what was happening. This wasn’t just vaguely “space age.” It was Fhloston Paradise.

Styled by Genesis Webb, Roan’s look was pulled from Jean Paul Gaultier’s costumes for the 1997 film. Specifically, the uniforms worn by the flight attendants aboard the floating luxury resort. Most people trying to evoke The Fifth Element would probably reach for orange hair and some strategically placed white fabric.

The outfit itself is pure Gaultier weirdness. The exaggerated cutouts, micro-mini proportions, and shiny boots land somewhere between futuristic uniform, 1960s mod fantasy, and very glamorous intergalactic customer service.

The reference is obvious if you know it, but the look still works even if you have somehow made it through life without watching The Fifth Element, a choice I personally cannot endorse.

It’s strange. It’s theatrical. And it’s extremely specific. It also looks fantastic on her.
