KFC Australia Has a Pickle Cheesecake… [Food Finds]

I like pickles. I like cheesecake.

But I have never once looked at those two foods and thought they were suffering from a lack of collaboration.

KFC Australia disagrees.

As part of its gloriously unrestrained Picklecore menu, KFC has introduced a limited-edition Pickle Cheesecake, described as sweet, tangy, and, perhaps most accurately, seriously unexpected. It’s available only from September 15 through September 21, 2026, with a $5 pickup price reported at launch.

And yes, it is exactly what it sounds like: cheesecake has entered its pickle era.

The dessert appears to pair creamy cheesecake filling with pickle flavor, pickle bits, and crumbs on top. It joins an entire Australian KFC menu currently devoted to dill-based chaos, including Pickle Burgers, fried pickles called Frickles, Pickle Loaded Chips, Pickle Ranch Sauce, and, because restraint left the building several menu items ago, Pickle Pepsi.

Early reactions have been surprisingly mixed. Some Australians who tried it said the pickle flavor is fairly subtle, with the dessert tasting more like a slightly tangy cheesecake than someone dropping a dill spear into the Cheesecake Factory. Others were less convinced, but even several skeptics seemed more bothered by the cheesecake itself than by the pickle part.

A pickle cheesecake should be easy to mock. It should exist purely so the internet can point at it for 48 hours before everyone quietly moves on.

Now I’m curious.

Since KFC Australia is only selling it for one week, this ridiculous little dessert has somehow managed to create exactly the response limited-edition fast food wants from us: Fine. I would try it.

I’m still drawing the line at Pickle Pepsi.

Probably… maybe not.
