The Bear: Mikey Meets Tina [Favorite Scenes]

You may have noticed that The Bear is one of my top current shows and is on its way to becoming one of my all-time favorite series. And, let’s be honest, I’m not alone in this. The buzz around the show, which takes inspiration from the legendary Mr. Beef in Chicago, is everywhere. One of the best scenes this season is when Mikey (Jon Bernthal) meets Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas).

That said, Season 3 was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I finished each episode thinking, “Wow, that was fantastic!” but as the season ended, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’d just watched a soap opera—a lot of drama and emotion in the moment, but not much that carried through the season. I’ll keep my critique vague for those who haven’t seen it yet, but it’s still The Bear, so it’s definitely worth watching (even if it’s not my favorite season)!

Season 3 had its share of standout moments—any scene featuring Jamie Lee Curtis is a win, in my opinion. But the real gem for me was a flashback scene to when Mikey first meets Tina. Tina, who’s on the brink of a breakdown and financial collapse, stops by The Beef for a coffee on a particularly rough day. It turns out to be a pivotal, life-changing moment for her.

Colón-Zayas’s Tina experiences so much heartache in episode 305, “Napkins,” but this scene is a bright spot of hope that makes me smile. It’s easily one of my favorite scenes from the season and maybe even the whole series. If you haven’t seen it yet or want to experience it again, watch it right now:
