Tia Carrere could always sing, but her breakout performance in Wayne’s World (Ballroom Blitz, anyone?) put her on the map. Does she still have the chops? Check out her performance with the Middle Aged Dad Jam Band.
The last time I wrote about the Middle Aged Dad Jam Band, Kristen Bell was covering Fiona Apple. Now they’re back with a new frontwoman: Tia Carrere.
Most remember Carrere as Cassandra Wong from the 1992 comedy Wayne’s World, starring Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, and Rob Lowe. Not only was she the sexy vixen with a heart of gold, but she had a voice made for rock ‘n’ roll.
If I’m honest, I still listen to her version of Ballroom Blitz pretty regularly — which is why I was psyched when she joined forces with one of my favorite Los Angeles bands, the Middle Aged Dad Jam Band.
Singing “Heartbreaker” made famous by Pat Benatar— another classic! — Tia Carrere is backed by David Wain, Jon Spurney, Bo Boddie, Sweet Teddy P, Jordan Katz, Kestrin Pantera, Allie Stamler, Amy Miles, Erinn Hayes, and Ken Marino.
