If you’re looking for a unique take on a family photo this year, look no further than the “Flesh Love” series from photographer and artist Haruhiko Kawaguchi, better known as Photographer Hal. All you need is your family, your home, the ability to hold your breath, and plastic wrap. That’s right, be prepared to get sealed in, frozen for only seconds while the photographs are taken. Could you handle it? I’m not so sure I could. But if you’re willing to endure the momentary panic, the result should be spectacular. Just look at Hal’s past work:
Before you call some version of social services because of cruelty to humans, an entire team works with Hal to make sure the subjects are safe at all times. They are only sealed for seconds at a time, and assistants are on standby to cut the plastic whenever needed, emergency or not.
